VCT eventually starts to lose its high shine & clean look as foot traffic wears down the floor finish (or “wax”).

When clients service their floors in-house or outsource the work, we usually see 2 specific floor cleaning attempts being used:
#1) The Mop & Coat (& Recoat): The VCT receives a standard mopping. After the floor dries, 1-2 coats of new floor finish is applied.
#2) The Scrub & Recoat (& Recoat Again): A couple of surface layers of wax are machine scrubbed off & 1-2 new coats are applied.
With #1 & #2, the tile will appear to shine again – sort of.
